Soundspalsh Festival Yoga

soundsplash festival

Soundsplash is a three day summer festival of music, freedom and expression, held in the Wainui reserve overlooking the beautiful Ngaranui Beach.

The eco-conscious and family friendly festival features a main stage nestled at the base of a stunning natural amphitheatre, with plenty of room to sit, relax, dance and enjoy. With 3 stages and over 40 acts the line up included New Zealand favourites Shapeshifter and Ladi6 plus reggae fusion band Ocean Alley and Perth based electronica duo Slumberjack.

In addition to celebrating music, Soundsplash also provided a full schedule of free workshops including fun flow yoga, making flower crowns and kombucha brewing.

Wild Coast Yoga was lucky enough to be part of the magic with our Eco yoga mats- providing festival goers one of our beautiful mats to use and we also took part in the yoga workshop run by The Space. Attending a yoga class while at a festival can help you ground yourself, be present in the moment and revitalise your body and mind while in an awesome festival environment.

Saturdays yoga workshop with Bethany and Bexie from The Space was energising, fun filled and a perfect way to begin your day. The workshop commenced at 9am with over thirty keen yogis. Wild Coast Yoga's mats were provided for the 1 hour class which included partner and group poses, balances and sun salutes. On the grass overlooking the farmland and Sound splash festival we finished the class with a chant of om before Sarah from Sew love began the flower crown workshop.

Sundays flow was suitably relaxed and restorative. We were lucky enough to be treated to live music with Chris on his guitar while Bexie flowed us through a range of poses to calm and reset the entire body.

Firm believers in nourishing the body, the Soundsplash team once again hand-picked a range of top food vendors, offering delicious and healthy food. From raw and vegan options, to rotisserie chicken, woodfired pizza and real fruit ice cream. Our top picks included the raw falafel wrap and goji bliss balls from Raw Balance, watermelon and strawberry Dizzy blocks and Truefood granola bowls by Earth to Table Raglan.
